Community Message Board and Newsletter
Lay Director’s Message What an incredibly moving service we had last month. The music that was offered was so moving. Thank you Randy and family for ushering us into the Throne Room of our Heavenly Father. I also want to thank Raylene and her team for the time and work they put in on the last Women's walk. God had called and set aside each individual on this team. They walked with each one of these pilgrims down that dusty road to Emmaus. And from the testimonies that were offered, there was not a single one that did not renew their relationship with Jesus before they reached the end of the journey. Can't wait to see their smiling faces Thursday at Community. For those who were unable to make it to last months meeting you missed a blessing. Dusty Roach was our Fourth Day speaker. I know, you are saying who in the world is Dusty Roach. Dusty is the Community Lay Director for the High Sky Emmaus Community. Myself, and Elwin have met with him to see how our two communities can work closer together. So, thank you Dusty for penetrating our hearts with the testimonies that you shared with us. Your Board of Directors have really been working hard at trying to come up with ways to encourage our community members to come back. One of the ideas that was discussed is to recognize our past lay directors and their teams. We are waiting until the busy summer months are over before we start this. When we kick this off, we will recognize all the walks from the first year for this community. We would appreciate any and all help we can get in contacting these teams. We also discussed having a potluck meal before community. This may help the ones that would like to make the meetings but need to go home first and cook. Just pick something up instead and come to community and break bread with all of us. This also would start after the summer months. I have also heard from several people the reasons why folks have quit coming to Community. I am going to approach the Board with what I have heard and give them a suggestion that I have been praying about for some time. As your Community Lay Director I am concerned as to why so many have chosen to stay away. Without you our community cannot survive. I am convinced that God has called each one of us to this Community. I don't feel that the Father is through with us yet. My desire is that first and foremost God gets top billing on all our walks and community meetings. If we will get out of HIS way and allow HIM to take control, then HE will walk us through these difficult times. DeColores Mark Hyatt
